Celebrating excellence, leadership, and service in the Elk River Area

Each year, the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce proudly recognizes the businesses and individuals who make our region a stronger place to live, work, and do business. Our Business & Volunteer Awards celebrate innovation, leadership, service, and long-standing commitment to the Elk River area.
Award recipients are honored at a celebratory fall luncheon, recognized by their peers, and featured in the Chamber’s annual Community Guide — ensuring their impact is shared well beyond the event itself.
Business Award Categories
The Chamber presents five Business Awards, recognizing excellence across a wide range of business sizes and stages:
Businesses may self-nominate, and nominations may also be submitted by Chamber members, customers, employees, or community members.
Volunteer of the Year Awards
In addition to business recognition, the Chamber proudly honors outstanding individuals through our Volunteer of the Year Awards. These awards celebrate the people who give their time, talent, and energy to strengthen the Chamber and our business community.
Volunteer awards are presented alongside Business Awards at the annual celebration, highlighting the partnership between strong businesses and dedicated community leaders.
Awards Luncheon & Celebration
Award recipients are honored at the Chamber’s Business & Volunteer Awards Luncheon, held each fall. The event brings together:
- The entire Chamber membership
- Business and community leaders
- Nominees, recipients, and their supporters
The luncheon is both a celebration and a connection point — recognizing success while strengthening relationships across our business community.
How the Nomination Process Works
The Chamber is committed to a thoughtful and transparent selection process:
- Submit a Nomination
Complete our simple online nomination form. Self-nominations are welcome. - Nominee Follow-Up
Nominees are contacted directly and asked to provide additional information to support their nomination. - Selection Committee Review
A committee of past award recipients reviews all nominations and selects finalists. - Board Approval
Final selections are reviewed and approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
This peer-driven process ensures award recipients truly reflect excellence within the business community.
Recognition Beyond the Event
Award recipients receive recognition that extends well beyond the luncheon:
- Featured placement in the annual Community Guide
- Promotion through Chamber communications and channels
- Ongoing recognition as leaders within the Elk River area
This lasting visibility reinforces the value of excellence, service, and leadership in our region.
