What is there to do in Elk River in the middle of February?
Have fun in the snow!

Shiver Elk River, is a family-friendly community winter weekend outdoors. Events include the Shiver Plunge, outdoor hockey tournament, a 5K/10K run walk, food and beverages, and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. 

New features this year included a bean bag tournament, medallion hunt, dog sled rides, and ice fishing clinic.

It’s sure to be the most fun you'll have all Winter!

Most events at Lake Orono Park on the west side of Elk River at Highway 10 and Gary Street.

For a br-r-r-ry good time, take a dip in Lake Orono to benefit your favorite charity

It’s not too early to be looking for members for your Shiver Plunge team. Here’s what you need to know:

You can plunge as an individual or as a team.

Registration fee is $35 per person.

All money raised will be donated to the nonprofit charity of your choice. Well over $100,000 has been sent on to local charitable organizations in the last five years.

Outdoor Hockey Tournament at Handke Stadium (The Pit)
 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 10
 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11
4 against 4, 6-8 players per team
No goalies, No checking, No raise above the knee
Must be at least 18 years old to play
Entry fee: $125 per team
Helmets required
